You can say that the majority of my footprint, on the internet, is blogging. It started with Pondering's Of Mahesh Bhat, where my blogging made a humble begining. It then prospered with Splat and then I went on to write for KalaaLog too.
For those who do not know about blog, I will point to a good article - rather than write about it myself. See what Darren Rowse says about blogs in: What is Blog?
So, what can blog do for you?
There is one thing that I realized that a blog helps more than anything else - satisfaction. Yes, there are many different purposes why people blog. But self expression remains the major reason for people to blog.
Few months back, I was having a hard time at work. I will not talk about that. But during that time, I found solace in blogging. I would come home from a stressful day at work, and then open up my blog, and forget about everything else. I could express myself. Even though, Splat was not a personal blog, I found that sharing information helped me feel that I am doing something worth while.
Another fact that results from blogging, is that it improves ones writing. It hones your writing skills, and after a while you will be able to write in various styles: short and to the point, narrative, rhetoric, humor. You will learn that there are many different ways to express, and writing is not just about getting the proper spelling and grammer. Of course, blogging helps you improve your spelling and grammer.
I would suggest, if you have a flair for writing, or even if you desire to do so - get yourself a blog and write.
